Names, names, names. Her name, other names. Names did not matter. Names belonged to the other world, the world of rules and grey and dull. Here everything was new, here no one needed names. They had power and their worlds and that was enough.

But the White Rose was poisonous. Already she had clawed her thorns, already she had sunk too deep. Too fast. Just a little prick and now to tear her apart... it would hurt. Thorns hurt.

It was already changing everything. Around Daisy 1s and 0s flickered, shifted, jumped, changed. Everything was changing. Everything was slipping fast away.

And there stood Father. A blink and he was 1s and 0s but he was there. Father who did not see her, Father who was trapped and weak.

Regina had been weak.

"She hurts!" warned Daisy, pointed finger up. Towards Father. A wolf caged by thorns. Trapped and weak. "She deceives to draw blood! If you listen it all vanishes!"

"Learn from Father who is trapped and weak," she whispered, wise, finally understanding the truth. "You will be trapped and weak..."

((PS: sorrrryy it took so long!))

"There is no Anchor." The truth echoed on nothing in a tinny voice coming from nowhere and everywhere. The Anchor was no longer. Cerulean City was built on the energy the dissipated from The Anchor. Something destroyed to make something new. A flow of one place to another. To another Tyler.

That was the test. Cyphan knew things to be real and unreal. The Anchor did not exist. Therefore, it was a trap. The malware warned of traps. The malware was correct, but misleading. The malware shouted that there was a virus. There was a virus and it had to be cleansed! Download now, cleanse the virus before all data is lost!

Cyphan was familiar with that trickery. When the malevolent was let in, it stole away data. It kept track of numbers, of codes, of secrets. It searched for what Cyphan could not provide.

If she found company of names on the list, than what conclusion was there to draw but that she herself became one? A name, a project. What did they call her? What name did they choose?

"Trapped and weak..." Cyphan mimicked. Yes, yes. She understood. She looked from the outside in. It was only logical that there had to be a way to look out from inside. And Cyphan was inside. "I understand."

A facsimile. Like the code that accompanied the lemniscate. On the inside. On the inside unable to see the Others who looked in on them. Cyphan looked at herself in a two-way mirror.

"You only see a reflection," Cyphan said to the unfamiliar intruder. Cyphan held out a hand, a familiar shape built of numbers, a shape Cyphan allowed herself to have. As if to reach out and press her thumbnail to the metaphorical glass to see it if touched the reflection or not.

If Cyphan could look in from outside, there must have been others who could, too. What did they think of these numbers writhing in the system?

Aleks had always been too smart for her own good really, and now Deliah was glad for it. The flickering code was resolving, finally, into something she could parse as a person. If she squinted. They were getting closer.

But Aleks wasn't who she was interested in. Well, interested might not be the word she should use, since she could feel her anger curling into a tight ball in her chest as she looked at the other piece of code. Had she really called her ghost 'Father'? Deliah could think of no one worse suited to fatherhood. And even if the stranger hadn't been related to her personal nightmare, Deliah would have hated her. She had taken John from her, turning Aiden against her.

She knew she shouldn't judge, should find out the story that connected them together, shouldn't think of leaving the Vault in place, but there were lines that had been crossed, and Deliah was not a forgiving person.

She shifted her stance, turning to look at the stranger, the code. "I'm going to burn this place to the ground," she said, voice cold, and empty of emotion.

She understood. But she didn't. She understood the wrong truth.

Numbers turned into Shapes. Shapes turned into Silhouettes. Silhouettes into a hand--. No, no, no. No. It was all changing. Changing already. Fast. Too fast. Too soon.

She did not understand. She was a fool. "Fools. You will not burn the worlds of color, they are infinite and powerful. I will stop you. We will stop you."

Not now. She was not strong enough now. Daisy's fingers clenched. A fist too solid. A fist, an arm, a shoulder. Too fast. Too soon. Daisy's too solid foot stepped back, and Daisy's other too solid foot also stepped back. Soon, not soon enough.

"We will be strong soon. We are powerful. We will not go back." Not to the grey, not to Regina, not to the world of dull and rules.

A step, another step, one more step, one last step. A door and a solid pointed finger.

"You will burn."

There were unseeable forces at play much more menacing than shifting numbers of a person. Cyphan watched the malware shift. A misguided individual who could not see past her reality. They were kept. They were code names and file folders somewhere else.

And here, reality ebbed and flowed. Where there could be an Anchor where none existed. Where numbers and figures were the same, pulsing in Cyphan's code.

The feud between Cyphan's visitors was vivid. Cyphan's quarrel was not with the malware, but with who she could not see at all. Malware was but a distraction.

They would burn. And that did not bother Cyphan nearly as much as it should have. A long lost phrase came to mind. "Resurget cineribus." Words from another life, another language, and yet, they stuck so well in her memory. "It will rise from the ashes."

Maybe the world had to be burned down to be rebuilt again. Energy and matter could not be destroyed, only repurposed.

Cyphan turned to her remaining guests. "Tell me more."
